Talent

He got a big ego, such a huge ego
I love his big ego, it's too much
He walk like this 'cause he can back it up

Let's talk about egos today. I know, quite a fun subject, but one thst is true to me.

Why do people have egos? That's a very good question. To be honest, I'm not sure myself. Why do people assume that they are better than someone else? It doesn't make sense to me. We are all people. We all live our lives. We all do the same thing. Some of us may be able to do something someone else can't, but that doesn't automatically makes us a better person.

To me, talent is a gift and a blessing. We are all given talent. Everyone is talented. It may not be in the same way as someone else, but we all have talent. Nothing makes someone better than anyone else. Sure, I'll admit, I envy Lea Michele (from Glee) of her singing talent every day, but I know she worked hard to acheive that. It didn't just come over night. We are all people. We are all one.

Ask yourself one question. Right now. Do I have an ego? Ask yourself. Did you ask? Did you say yes? I can guarntee that someone said no, but they are just adding to their ego. "I'm so nice. I don't have an ego. I'm better than that." Did that sound like a person without an ego to you? I think not.

Remember, friends are you friends for a reason. Don't pick your friends because of what they can do. Friends are friends because you can relate. No one is better than anyone else.

I repeat. No one is better than anyone else.

Peace,

Suckish

Take me for what I am
Who I was meant to be...

Sometimes, being special sucks. Yeah, I said it. Life sucks sometimes. It's not fair. Why do we automatically assume that it is? Because in reality, LIFE SUCKS.

I know what you're thinking... "Jen, why are you blogging in such a mean tone today?" Well, it's a long story, but I'll sum it up easily.

Do you play any sports? Well, I don't, but I know people that do. In particular, I have this one friend. Let's call him Dan. And Dan plays baseball on his high school team. He's been on the team for three years - now a junior. Dan did not play freshman year. Understandably. Dan played a little bit sophomore year. Understandable. Now, junior year, you would expect Dan to play more often - right? Well, that's not true. Dan has played one game. ONE STINKING GAME. That's it.

Still not convinced that Dan's life sucks? Well, there is a FRESHMAN on the VARSITY team! WHAT?! A FRESHMAN?! How is Dan not being played, while a freshman is?! Someone please explain this to me, because I don't understand it. Why does Dan not get a chance to play? So he may not be the best player in the world, but that's what high school sports is about - learning. Dan is learning to be a better player, but the coaches aren't giving him oppurtunity. Does this seem fair to you?

On top of all of this, Dan's dad asked the coach why his son hasn't been playing. The coach said, in front of Dan I remind you, "Well, he's not good enough." WHAT?!?!?!?!? *angry face*

So, I ask you, my dear readers. Why does life suck so much? Why do we spoil the rich and not care for the poor? Why do let others have more chances? I HATE LIFE AND I HATE THAT WE DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS! I hate life. I hate life. Have I mentioned I hate life?

Show Dan some love and think of those who do not have the same rights.

Dan, you're my favorite baseball player ever. I'll support you.

Peace,
j

Outside.

Miss Popularity
She's the girl that you love to hate
She's a heart stopping double take
Everyone knows that she's got it made
Workin' hard to be
Miss Popularity

Why did I post those lyrics? Well, they were the best that I could find to go along with my post. If you hadn't already figured out, I always post some song lyrics to start out my blogs. Yeah. I'm creative.

I want to talk about popularity. Get your hand off that mouse. Don't click off this page. Please. Read this. I want this message and my opinion to be known.

What is popularity? To me, it's all about attention. How much attention one receives determines how popular you are. We can all agree on that. Right? I guarntee you have heard of Brad Pitt, but have you heard of Ariana Grande? I bet not. I bet you had to go look her up on Google. Did you do any research about Ariana? She is an extremely talented teenager who stars on Nickelodeon in Victorious. She was also on Broadway in 13. She is just as talented, maybe even more so than Brad Pitt - but a majority of Americans do not know who she is.

This is how I view popularity. You may see it differently, and that's fine. I just think that we need to forget about all of this. I HATE IT. Popularity leads to people becoming egotistical and extremely rude. Do we appreciate that? No. Honestly, the more popular someone becomes, the more I begin to dislike them. I used to be obsessed with the Jonas Brothers when they started their careers. Now, I can't stand them. Popularity changes a person.

I see it in community theater that I participate in. (Elizabeth/Jami - You know what I mean) If someone has a bigger role than someone else, they most likely will start to feel better about themselves and just enjoy all of the attention that they are receiving. It's getting on my nerves. Everyone is talented. There is no need to think of yourself better than anyone.

God made us equal. He does not intend for one person to be better than anyone else. Sure, He has grnated people with special gifts and abilities and even som authority, but this does not mean that we have to show off and brag about what we can do.

I digress.

Peace,
j

Who I Am

I want someone to love me
For who I am
I want someone to need me
Is that so bad?
I want to break all the madness
But it's all I have
I want someone to love me
For who I am

Yes. I do realize that those are lyric from Nick Jonas. And, yes, I do not like him very much - to be honest, I can't stand him - but the lyrics are great. And I think it was a cry of distress from him.

Fame and fortune. Everyone wants it. Everyone thinks that it's something and amazing and fantastic and that it's the perfect life. Wrong. It's not. I've come to realize that, but I didn't always. TMZ stalks people - a lot. I would hate to have that. Sure, I'd love to have people love me, worship the ground I walk on, and even send me free things. (Ha.) But there is more to life than just fame and fortune.

I read a book a year ago called "Still Growing" by Kirk Cameron. It's an amazing read and I suggest you get it. For those who don't know, Kirk was the star of the 80s sitcom, Growing Pains. He was a teen heart throb for many years, and in the book he tells how his fame has affected him today. He talks about all of the crazy things that happened, and how many screaming fans he had to endure. He also talks about his walk with God, which is an amazing story.

Back to Nick Jonas' lyrics... The Jonas Brothers are still really popular - even though there's that Justin Bieber kid out there. The Jonas Brothers have endured a lot of stress and have really pulled through. But, in all honesty, I would think that they're kind of upset or hurting inside. They love their fans, sure, but do their fans love them for them or love them for their fame, music, and fortune?

My final thought: What is love? Is it the love of someone, or the love of something?

Peace,

You Can't Always Get What You Want

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

That's what Glee sang to the audience as their finale number at sectionals. The more I thought about that song, the more I realized it to be true. The song is now stuck in my head, and I have memorized it. It is so evident, and so true to life today.

For example, the whole Conan O'Brien vs. Jay Leno thing on NBC. I'm glad it's finally settled, because it was seriously annoying. Everyone everywhere was "Are you Team Conan?" or "What are your thoughts on Jay Leno?". Seriously, STOP IT. The situation (no Jersey Shore pun intended) has been laid to rest. End of story.

Life is not fair. We are faced with decisions every day. Some things people want, and some things people need. There is a difference between the two. To want something is to feel the need have something. You want to have it. To need something is to be desperate for. Major difference between the two.

Equality is not perfect. Not everyone sees how everyone is equal to everyone else. God created man equal. He made no one better than anyone else, not even the President of the United States. Just because people think they are better than you, doesn't mean they are. They have no better rights than you. People may treat them differently, but, in reality, they are wanting attention - sometimes like you.

Success is something we should strive for. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary. Work for things you want. It will pay off. Shoot for the stars, because, even if you miss, you'll be amoing the stars.

Ignore the people who are spoiled. They will hurt you in the end. America, we have a lot of work to do.

Peace,
j

Lyrics...

Song lyrics always make me happy. I'd like to share my favorite song lyrics as of this moment. Enjoy.

Where do I go
Follow the river
Where do I go
Follow the gulls

Where is the something
Where is the someone
That tells me why I live and die

Where do I go
Follow the children
Where do I go
Follow their smiles

Is there an answer
In their sweet faces
That tells me why I live and die

Follow the wind song
Follow the thunder
Follow the neon in young lovers' eyes

Down to the gutter
Up to the glitter
Into the city
Where the truth lies

Where do I go
Follow my heartbeat
Where do I go
Follow my hand

Where will they lead me
And will I ever
Discover why I live and die

Why do I live (beads, flowers)
Why do I die (freedom, happiness)
Tell my why (beads, flowers)
Tell me where (freedom, happiness)
Tell my why (beads, flowers)
Tell me why (freedom!)
